Xion, the Comic book networking group Shawn Alleyne started presents: “Superheroes Afterhours”, a look at some of our favorite comic book characters in a whole other light.
These were Gouache & Ink Renderings 6×8 framed for the show.

This one took about most of September. I want to start doing some sketch cards for the Conventions after seeing artist working in Pttsburgh at the convention. One group of heros turned into

This is a image I did for fun . I’m looking forward to this movie. Dave Lizewski is an unnoticed high school student and comic book fan who one day decides to become a super-hero, even though he has no powers, training or meaningful reason to do so.

I had a great time once agai at the philadelphia Wizard World . Always good to meet and talk shop w/ people in the industry.
DEADPOOL (Marvel) sketch for Con.
I did this on a comic that comes w/ a white cover for the artist at conventions to do quick sketches. I had to take this one home that night to give it a little more detail . I scratched the top and bottom of the cover to the white of the paper for the graphic to bleed.

BLAIR SMITH - COLORS - (Gouache) -Gouache is an opaque watercolor paint. Whereas transparent watercolors allow you to see the “white” of the paper below the paint, gouache can be applied in solid colors. This allows an artist to paint in layers from dark to light.
I also worked W/ Shawn Alleyne on A Colaboriation Piece … You Guessed it…. DEADPOOL AGAIN
I printed his scan directly onto comic book layout paper. Than i went to town after a little research on chinese wash painting.
